Nutritional Services

Our Department of Nutritional Services is focused on preventing and treating diseases, affording assistance in meeting personal goals, and providing nutrition advice. The department coordinates with our endocrinologist, cardiologists, gastroenterologist, nephrologist, pulmonary specialists, and internists regarding such conditions as diabetes, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, celiac disease, colitis, peptic ulcer disease, acid reflux, food allergies/intolerances, chronic kidney disease, sleep apnea, cancer, and overweight/obesity. It also provides coordination with other specialists outside of Maple Medical, LLP.

By learning how food nourishes the body, patients will begin to understand how daily food choices affect the prevention and management of chronic disease as well as mood, energy level, and food cravings. Individuals can gain control of their eating habits without feeling overly restricted simply by eating in a well-balanced manner. This provides the flexibility to plan one’s own meals, a necessity in avoiding monotony and developing lasting lifestyle modifications to achieve better health and personal goals.
