Job Opening: Patient Accounts Analyst

  • Knowledge of Medical/Billing terminology, ICD9, and CPT coding
  • Data entry of charges, payment postings, and adjustment transactions
  • Submits all professional fees and claims electronically or manually to direct, secondary, and third party insurances
  • Ensures all claims are received by the payer
  • Follows-up with insurance companies in order to expedite payments
  • Investigates and resolves rejected claims
  • Posts denials on a timely basis and processes appeals
  • Performs account analysis from assigned work list/reports
  • Reviews A/R and ensures follow-up with individual patients and/or insurance companies
  • Reviews the Credit Balance report and initiates requests for refunds/transfers of money accordingly
  • Answers telephone regarding Billing and internal inquiries
  • Writes appeal letters on rejected claims
  • Assists in the retrieval of audit information
  • Prepares reports and performs other tasks as directed
  • Written, verbal, and computer literacy required
  • eClinicalWorks Billing system preferred

  • Maintains professional interaction with physicians, patients and peers
